it had been a long time since Netscape released a product - and an even longer time since they broke any new ground, choosing instead of follow, rather than lead.
The name Netscape had been synonymous with browsers since the very beginning of the WWW - I remember that my first browser was netscape beta product - pre-dating even version 1.0... ask anyone who got on the internet in the last 4-5 years if they have heard of Netscape, and I am sure the answer will be no...
