Having tested many junk email filtering solutions - we kept coming back to one of the original candidates - Postini - which is now a division within Google. Back in 2007 Google acquired the Postini security company - primarily to add the best available junk email and virus filtering to their email offering - gmail. After extensive testing - we concur - this is the best solution around - we have NOT been able to find better at ANY PRICE.
Features we found within Postini which left it a clear leader were:
- it integrated into our control panel - essential that you can point & click to add this to your account quickly and easily
- easy to use junk email filtering interface - some of the other solutions were just "clunky" or "complicated" - you need to be able to check your quarantine without spending a long time on this

What type of junk and viruses are handled by postini?
The following types of junk are filtered:
- unsolicited email or spam
- phishing emails
- junk that directs your to virus laden websites
- emails with viruses in attachments
- emails with viruses in attachments
If you want to keep any of this junk email - then this system is probably NOT for you - on the other hand, most customers tell us they would be happy if this stuff never entered their mailboxes - and that is EXACTLY what this new premium junk filtering will do - it will practically BANISH spam and virus emails. We're glad you asked... because we think this is the BEST part of this solution - apart from the fact that it's easy, and quick, and brilliant... it's also so ridiculously cheap, that we flirted with the idea of charging more... if you know Greg - you'll understand how much he loves a bargain - and this isn't just a bargain - it's a STEAL - you will be biting our arms off at this price...
The price we have initially put on this service on business plans is $1.50 setup, plus $1.50 a month per mailbox - that works out to about 5 cents a day.. uhhh... WOW... yes - we said 5 cents a day!!!
The extra time you get per day from not having to deal with junk email, viruses and phishing emails will be worth DOLLARS a day - not pennies!

How do I get it?
We have been working hard - the Postini system is now integrated into the hosting control panel - we've built a quick and easy to follow tutorial - it should take you about 10 minutes to add postini to your first email box - and about 2 minutes to add it to your 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc... but please note - the full affects of postini email filtering are not INSTANT - because all your email will be passed through the postini mailservers, this means that your mailserver routing must be updated - this is done through DOMAIN NAME SERVERS - or DNS - changes to DNS can take up to 72 hours to complete.. so the full effects of the postini filtering will take that long to be 100% effective - but you will definitely see junk email in your postini quarantine within the day.. it is practically guaranteed!

Do I need to commit to a lengthy service contract to try this out?
No - you do not - if you turn on the service within your control panel - you will not be charged a penny unless you add the filtering to one of your mailboxes - at which time, our control panel will calculate the pro-rated charge for whatever remains of your billing cycle - if you're on a monthly payments, you'll be charged for the remainder of the month - quarterly, and you will be charged for the remainder of the quarter - etc. You can try this out on ONE of your mailboxes, and add more as you feel comfortable doing so.
As usual with our services - if you decide to turn off the filtering - you will see a pro-rated refund applied back to your web hosting account - you pay only for the time the services was turned on - try it for a week - and the bill will be setup fee, plus about $0.35... can you say PEANUTS!?!?!
I have other hosting accounts that are not "Business Plans" - can I get this on those accounts?
At the moment, we are rolling out this premium product to business plan customers only - we may add this to other plans in time - possibly "The One Plan" next - we do not envisage that this feature will be added to our "Affordable Plans" and "Budget Plans" at all - ever... put simply, this is a premium feature - sorry. If and when this feature makes it to other plans - the price will be more for those lesser plans - our focus is on Business customers - you are our focus - and these features are driven by your needs. Yes, we have customers who use our hosting for their family photo album etc - but that is not our focus - business website hosting is our focus!
